The Invisible reCAPTCHA: Securing your Web server while giving website visitors a seamless experience

You might already be aware that Imunify360 includes the best and the coolest Invisible reCAPTCHA feature, developed by Google. The Invisible reCAPTCHA makes visitor experience seamless yet still keeps your servers secure. Metal detectors no more! Here is how it works.

ReCAPTCHA is built for security and it keeps bots from engaging in abusive activities on websites while letting valid visitors pass through. But unlike the typical reCAPTCHA that presents valid users with the “I am not a robot” checkbox, the latest Invisible reCAPTCHA technology instead REDIRECTS them to the site AUTOMATICALLY! It creates a much better user experience without an annoying validation screen. After all, the goal of every website is to get visitors there faster and without complications.

And all this doesn’t jeopardize security, because when the Invisible reCAPTCHA detects bot-related requests to access a website or a page, it will still trigger the CAPTCHA challenge.

But wait, how does it know which is a human visit and which one is not? This technology is very smart, and is capable of doing just that better than any other commercially available technology. It uses Google’s Advanced Risk Analysis technology and Artificial Intelligence to evaluate the visitor ‘before, during, and after’ encountering a CAPTCHA screen, to determine whether it is a human or an automated software. And it does that in the background, automatically. It only takes a few seconds to analyze and present either the destination website for humans or a captcha screen for bots.

Invisible reCAPTCHA is included with Imunify360 at no cost, but it is an optional feature and you can easily enable it.

Here is how it works in Imunify360: Let’s say a visitor gets ‘blocked’ - violates Imunify360 security rules, tries to enter the wrong password, for example. Then Imunify360 automatically blocks the access to your server from their IP address, adding it to the Gray List. With a traditional reCAPTCHA, it will redirect the visitor to the Captcha screen. With the invisible reCAPTCHA, with a just a few seconds delay, it will redirect the visitor to their destination website, removing the obstacle of a reCAPTCHA screen. You no longer have to stop visitors from reaching websites - you can now only stop the bots!
