Imunify360’s latest malware scanning engine outperforms other technologies

Yesterday, we released the latest version of Imunify360. In addition to a few important features, such as Plesk support, it now includes new and greatly improved malware scanning engine. Our latest release shows significantly better malware scanning results than most popular free or paid solutions we have seen used in hosting industry. We have tested the Imunify360’s new malware scanning engine against several commercial engines, as well as free engines, such as ClamAV and Maldet, and our scanner detects up to 20% more malware.

In the hosting industry survey we did last year over 68% of hosting providers reported that malware infection is a top concern for their customers’ web servers. We are building Imunify360 to address this major issue by automatically scanning file systems for malware and quarantines infected files, and we have just made a major improvement to our scanning engine!

Imunify360 runs on CentOS 6 & 7, and CloudLinux OS 6 & 7 distributions. It supports cPanel as well as Plesk control panels. To learn more about this release, including additional new and/or improved features, you can read this blog post.

We use Atomicorp's clamav signatures. They mostly detect php backdoors and malware. Do we need them with the new version? Does immunify detect the same or better that those signatures?

How about false positives? Are you outperforming the others in regards to that as well?

We are seeing a lot of false positives on servers with LFD integration--> you would see them with LFD anyway, but we might amplify them in some cases, broadcasing same IP to other servers. We are working on adding more 'smarts' there.

Also, the last WaF ruleset update had some issues. We are soon to launch framework to prevent such things.

Hi Igor,

It would be great if we could get a feature where we can simply upload undetected files as we have on maldet with a simple command.
Is that something you could get into the product? And maybee also into GUI for those who need that?

Will give it a try when/if the "per user greed" will be removed in the future.

Sorry, but we really don't want to charge $25/month for a server with a single user license. Our numbers showed that it is either that, or we have to charge different prices.

IMHO the pricing is terrible bad when you involve license per users (cmon , cpanel doesn't charge you per user but you dare to ask for it)
The cost the for unlimited users option is prohibitive expensive (you are asking more than what cPanel or Plesk charges for their entire product). Considering that you also charge for cloudlinux , kernelcare and now immunify , i just see it as a way for you/the company to abuse your market position and milk customers. It would probably sound much better to make it free for 1 single user (your greed again to charge even for a single user) and a single cost for the 'unlimited license' (not worth more than 15$/month at best for a vps). I'm quite sure I'm not the only one that has this opinions.

Hopefully you/Cloudlinux will improve the product and maybe even reduce it's pricing in the future (no bulk story). Or hopefully a competitor will have a better vision and bring us competition which will lead to better product/s even from CL.

Best regards

Is it ok to switch off CXS now that we are running Imunify? So that Imunify does the real time scanning. Are there any pros and cons?
best
Nick

Detection rate is better than with CXS? really? no problem on running both in parallel.

OTOH, i see you speak about CSF/LFD, should we leave these enabled too?
