Hello,

We are trying to install a server with CloudLinux 6 via pxe boot (using CloudLinux 6.2 netboot ISO image) and using repo http://repo.cloudlinux.com/cloudlinux/6.2/install/x86_64/Packages/ for actual OS installation. However, installation process shows many RPMs missing and it halts. RPMs for example, nmap, automake, libtool etc.

CloudLinux being variant of Centos only, should not its repo provide all RPMs that are provided by Centos repo? Or is there any other CL repo to be used for server deployment?

Regards,

The RPMs are in the channel, not in the repository. The server needs to be licensed to retrieve them.
And no, we are not variant of CentOS. We are variant of RHEL.

1) Basically, we wanted to save efforts of installing Centos 6 and then running CloudLinux migration script. So provided we obtain CL license beforehand, is there any way we can install server via kickstart/cobbler without any hassle with all required rpms?

2) Alternatively, what if we use before mentioned CL repo and Centos Repo together, so that rpms not present in CL can be obtained from Centos repo (like nmap etc), and after server installation is done, we will just activate CL license.. Will this lead to any problem if many rpms are used from Centos Repo?

Any answer to my query? We are looking to automate server deployment as we are testing it.. so that in future we can deploy as many boxes as possible without manual intervention. This is possible with Centos but, with cloudlinux we are stuck due to other required rpms not being available.

Hello,
Could you say what packages needed for deployment are missed in http://repo.cloudlinux.com/cloudlinux/6.2/install/x86_64/Packages/?

As for the second question - yes, since we are binary compatible with rhel6/centos6 mix of packages is possible. Every system converted from centos is a mix of cloudlinux and centos packages, so it\'s not a problem.

It is in channels -- you have to subscribe to be able to install all those packages.
