Beta: mod_lsapi updated

The new updated mod_lsapi packages for CloudLinux 6 and 7 as well as for Apache 2.4 (CloudLinux 6) and EasyApache 4 (CloudLinux 6 and 7) are available for download from our updates-testing repository.

Changelog:

mod_lsapi 1.1-10

ea-apache24-mod_lsapi 1.1-10

httpd24-mod_lsapi 1.1-10

  • MODLS-368: added mod_lsapi handler to EA4 PHP handlers;
  • MODLS-399: fetching litespeed sources over https for beta;
  • MODLS-408: added PHP71 handler;
  • MODLS-391: buffering temporary file completely before passing it to backend PHP process.

The significant improvement for mod_lsapi working on cPanel servers with EasyApache 4 was implemented in the actual release. In the previous versions, mod_lsapi worked over the suPHP handler, which made suPHP unusable on cPanel servers with enabled global mod_lsapi.

From this release on, mod_lsapi handler was added to cPanel PHP handler, so you can manage your domains with PHP version and mod_lsapi handler from cPanel MultiPHP Manager.

Also the following options were disabled for ea-apache24-mod_lsapi:

/usr/bin/switch_mod_lsapi --enable-domain
/usr/bin/switch_mod_lsapi --disable-domain

/usr/bin/switch_mod_lsapi --enable-global
/usr/bin/switch_mod_lsapi --disable-global

To update:

cPanel & RPM Based

$ yum clean all --enablerepo=cloudlinux-updates-testing
$ yum update liblsapi liblsapi-devel --enablerepo=cloudlinux-updates-testing
$ yum update mod_lsapi --enablerepo=cloudlinux-updates-testing
$ service httpd restart

DirectAdmin

$ yum clean all --enablerepo=cloudlinux-updates-testing
$ yum update liblsapi liblsapi-devel --enablerepo=cloudlinux-updates-testing
$ cd /usr/local/directadmin/custombuild
$ ./build set cloudlinux_beta yes
$ ./build update
$ ./build mod_lsapi

To install, follow the instructions on the link:

http://docs.cloudlinux.com/index.html?installation_mod_lsapi.html

EasyApache 4

The release requires additional steps for mod_lsapi installation and upde on EasyApache 4.

To update run:

$ yum clean all --enablerepo=cl-ea4-testing --enablerepo=cloudlinux-updates-testing

$ yum update liblsapi liblsapi-devel ea-apache24-mod_lsapi --enablerepo=cl-ea4-testing --enablerepo=cloudlinux-updates-testing

$ /usr/bin/switch_mod_lsapi --setup

$ service httpd restart

After that, all your domains that used mod_lsapi will be switched to suPHP as default PHP handler used from MultiPHP Manager. To turn on mod_lsapi back, go to MultiPHP Manager and chose lsapi handler. That's all.

To install:

$ yum-config-manager --enable cl-ea4-testing
$ yum update liblsapi liblsapi-devel --enablerepo=cloudlinux-updates-testing

read http://docs.cloudlinux.com/index.html?cpanel_easyapache_4.html

$ yum-config-manager --disable cl-ea4-testing

Go to MultiPHP Manager and enable mod_lsapi on your domains through mod_lsapi handler.

To remove mod_lsapi:

Before removing mod_lsapi, make sure to change lsapi handler to any other from MultiPHP Manager.

I needed to run /usr/bin/switch_mod_lsapi --setup again to get it to show as a handler in MultiPHP Manager. This was for an upgrade.

Is it safe to use the beta channel to take advantage of this feature (handler) in product server?

Thanks.

Thanks, mod_lsapi (beta installed)
I think the procedure described for the instalaltion (not an update) regarding EA4 is incomplete
I did the following steps:
yum-config-manager --enable cl-ea4-testing
yum install liblsapi liblsapi-devel --enablerepo=cloudlinux-updates-testing (install not update)
yum install ea-apache24-mod_lsapi --enablerepo=cloudlinux-updates-testing
yum-config-manager --disable cl-ea4-testing
