New cl-MariaDB and MySQL packages for MySQL Governor are available from our updates-testing repository.

Please note: save database before update.

To update run:

cl-MySQL:

# yum update cl-MySQL-meta-client cl-MySQL-meta cl-MySQL-meta cl-MySQL* --enablerepo=cloudlinux-updates-testing
#restart mysql
#restart governor-mysql

cl-MariaDB:

# yum update cl-MariaDB-meta-client cl-MariaDB-meta cl-MariaDB-meta cl-MariaDB*  --enablerepo=cloudlinux-updates-testing
#restart mysql
#restart governor-mysql

To install on a new server:

# yum install governor-mysql
# /usr/share/lve/dbgovernor/db-select-mysql --mysql-version=[mariadb version or mysql version]
# /usr/share/lve/dbgovernor/mysqlgovernor.py --install-beta

Do you know any hosting people like perhaps Amazon or Nearlyfreespeech which might offer this "Resource Governor" for mariadb? I am in need!

I assume this will help throttle DOS (greedy SELECTors)...
Am also looking for a HELLO WORLD on how to use this to throttle number of queries per day by IP I guess....

For today, we can throttle queries by CPU and IO, but cannot collect statistics by IP and RSS.
Unfortunately, right now we cannot suggest any third-party ready-made solution.

what does that mean? If cpu>N, you break the connection query by query? If the transfer IO>N, you discontinue query by query? That seems harsh.... Anyway, thanks for the comment!
