Modern UI and improved usability: now the updated client PHP Selector extension for cPanel

UI_20190621-094748_1

Today, I’m here to tell you that our well-known client PHP Selector is ready for Beta. It now has an updated UI, and improved usability for our valuable cPanel users.
First of all, you can see a preview of the new icon for the client PHP Selector in cPanel on the announcement cover image—so you can easily find it.

And here is a preview of the new UI.

A simple, clear, and user-friendly UI lets you have more cups of tea or coffee instead of clicking, choosing, scrolling, and entering.

Usability

We have added an autosave feature. So, when you tick boxes while editing options—no more additional scrolling and clicking—enjoy it!

With the auto-save feature, does it apply a "soft Apache restart" after every changed value? Currently, if you were to update some of the settings, the live website is unavailable for a quick second (or few). Does that happen after every changed setting now, or no?

Nice! Any chance of getting this new interface translated to multiple languages ? We would be happy to provide the French translation.

Hi Shannon,

1. With the auto-save feature, does it apply a “soft Apache restart” after every changed value?
No, auto-save does not apply a “soft Apache restart” after every changed value.

2. If you were to update some of the settings, the live website is unavailable for a quick second (or few)?
SIGHUP signal is being sent to the user's processes

3. Does that happen after every changed setting now or no?
Yes, but it happens quite quickly, and we are still in beta. We want to get your feedback about it and we consider to add the ability to switch off auto-save feature.

Hi Richard,

Thanks!
We are planning to add a feature to use the custom localization for all plugins with the updated UI in Q3.

Please note that this is the client PHP Selector, the admin part of the PHP Selector remains the same. It already has the updated UI.
