LVE Manager update — we've disabled ImunifyAV pre-installed

In our latest production release of LVE Manager, our ImunifyAV malware scanner came pre-installed. Although it worked fine in Beta without any questions or comments, some of our customers are not happy with ImunifyAV being pre-installed in production (even though ImunifyAV lets you scan your system for malware and viruses automatically).

We value our customers' opinions so in this release of LVE Manager we've disabled ImunifyAV pre-installed. In the future, we are planning to implement ImunifyAV as an optional feature, as it is a great free scanning tool that improves server security.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconveniences related to ImunifyAV coming pre-installed in LVE Manager.
If you are not happy with ImunifyAV in your LVE Manager, you can uninstall it using these instructions.

Changelog:

lvemanager-4.0-26.13.1

  • WEB-1311: turned off ImunifyAV automatic installation.

To update, run:

yum update lvemanager

To downgrade, run:

yum downgrade lvemanager

CloudLinux yum repos seem to be really problematic right now. I keep getting connection reset by peer errors and having to retry.

Thank you for pulling this! We currently run CXS, CSF and some other products but, with all the increased site scans, brute force attempts, and more, we're in the process of evaluating the full suite. This had us a bit concerned that it might interfere with our daily CXS operations which is why we opened a ticket on this.

ImunifyAV is a great solution for those who haven't purchased some form of AV and have sites that keep getting re-infected. I know a lot of BIG names don't run software like this and we're glad because, with the number of site hacks on their platform, we're always picking up new hosting business.

With CL and I360, we're confident our servers are going to be well protected with the newer threats that are emerging monthly!

Just in case -- ImunifyAV does just the file scan. Nothing else. It would not interfere with CXS/CFS or anything else.
