CageFS 3.5 released

I am happy to announce general availability of CageFS 3.5 for CloudLinux 5 and 6. The new stable version is available from CloudLinux channels. This version has significant improvements in stability and performance, as well as improved security model, by removing the need for setuid root binaries inside CageFS.

Here is the list of major improvements:
  • Full support and integration for cPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin, InterWorx and ISP Manager including web interface plugins
  • Full support and automatic detection of LiteSpeed
  • CageFS fuse was replaced by proxyexec and custom /etc per customer
  • Improvements in CageFS performance
  • Various stability improvements
Since the latest CageFS 3.2 Beta 7 version follow changes were added:
  • python.cfg: added /usr/bin/python2.6 /usr/lib/python2.6 /usr/lib64/python2.6
  • perl.cfg: added /usr/local/bin/perl
  • added snmp.cfg (paths=/usr/share/snmp, /etc/snmp)
  • Change permissions of the all .cagefs.token files to 0400
  • Added check that dirs /root/cpanel3-skel, /etc/skel exist before searching for .htac
  • jail.c: LVE_NO_MAXENTER flag has been added to lve_enter_flags() call
To update:
# yum update cagefs
# cagefsctl --update



To install
# yum install cagefs
