CageFS 3 For CloudLinux 5 Released

I am happy to announce general availability of CageFS 3 for CloudLinux 5. The new stable version is available from CloudLinux channels. This version presents significant improvements over CageFS 2, including:
  • Integration with cPanel, Plesk, InterWorx and ISP Manager including web interface plugins
  • Better namespace support to completely hide all mount points, and minimize the size of /proc/mounts
  • CageFS fuse for /var and optionally -- /etc directories
  • Better update procedure that takes care of adding and removing new files.
  • Ability to include RPMs into CageFS without additional configuration
  • Number of performance fixes and optimizations
Since the latest Beta 7 version follow changes were added:

  • Improved access permissions for config files
  • Multiple bugfixes in upgrade since previous versions
  • Bugfix: cagefsctl --list-enabled displays list of enabled users
  • cagefsctl: added option --check-kernel-version
cagefsctl: execute --migrate-prefixes, --set-min-uid, --get-min-uid will work with old kernels

CageFS 3 for CloudLinux 6 is still in beta until new kernel for CloudLinux 6 released
